1992 - John Freidberg (Sabre) becomes the first UNC Fencer to go to the
Olympics
1996 - Ni (Epee) competes in Olympics Games in Atlanta
1999 - Coach Miller breaks Dean Smith’s winning record
2003 - Coach copies and pastes apology letter for “Duck Fook” t-shirts
2004 - 1000th win at Home Meet by Women's Epee fencer Sally Lampron at
home against Brandeis!
2005 - UNC Fencers brave KGB officials and invasive airport security to travel
to mother Russia
2007 - 1112 wins!
2008 - 1175 wins! First home meet in four years: MAFCA Dual Meet at
Fetzer Gym October 26th. US takes 3 Olympic metals in saber.
2009 - 1210 wins!
2010 - 1240 wins!
2011 - 1270 wins...
2012 - 1300th win! Allie Mead, Women’s Epee and senior from
Hillsborough, N.C., cinched the 1300th win against Drew University
with a 14 bout victory.
2015 - January - 1400 wins! At UPenn, Sarah Hanvy’s victory against Sacred
Heart pushed Miller’s record past the 1,400 mark.
2017 - April 8, 2017, UNC Fencing Alumni, hosted by Mathew Cox and
Rebecca Conley, celebrated Coach Miller's 50th year as Carolina's Head
Fencing Coach.
2017 - 1500 wins @Ohio State Elite Invitational Duals Nov 4 & 5
2018 - Feb 25th - Carolina Claims First ACC Women's Fencing Championship
